Christian Childbirth Educator
I teach childbirth classes from a Christian perspective. I'm a non-practicing Direct-Entry Midwife, and my classes are based on the fact that God designed women to be able to birth the babies that grow in their womb. Women were meant to birth their babies, not have them cut out of them. Though there are a few exceptions to this, there are way too many c-sections and women are left believing they couldn't birth their own baby. Let me help you believe in God's design.
My classes teach growing a healthy baby; how you were designed to birth and breastfeed your baby; what birth is all about; your choices; how your coach can support you during birth; how to use truth to battle fear and pain; information about your newborn; and tidbits for a happier postpartum. These classes are good for those choosing a homebirth or hospital birth.
It's best to have the first couple of classes early in your pregnancy. This will give you a strong foundation for a healthy pregnancy, labor and postpartum. Contact me early - not late. You'll be glad you did.
Doula
Women feel stronger in birth when they are surrounded by women who believe they can do it. A doula is at your birth to serve you - not to try and make you have the birth she would have. Doulas serve the parents with support, information, and a strong belief in the design of birth. Dad doesn't end up thinking he has to know all about birth, and can be the loving husband for you during this time. As a Christian doula, I will be an informed prayer warrior by your side.
The cost of a doula is forgotten long before you'll forget the joy of having your birth supported by someone who is working to help you have your birth your way.

Finding Your Strength
The Lord designed women to birth their babies. But, we've been filled with fear of our bodies and the process. My classes will teach you Birth Truth = Birth Trust. You will learn that you have the right to say, "NO," to any medical procedure you don't want in childbirth and if a medical professional tries to use a guilt trip or coerse you to do something against your wishes, you have the right and the power to make them quit it.
Fighting Your Fears
Women often hear fearful stories and some seem to love to fill pregnant women with fear. Learn to fight those fears with truth and to trust the Lord to deliver you and your baby. Since you can trust Him with the greatest of all things in life, your salvation, you can trust Him in your birth, also.
You can birth your baby!
Finding the Truth
The Lord tells us, "Truth will set you free." Though He was speaking about His Truth, this is true in birth, as well. Don't be bound by lies that your birth has to be like everyone else's.
