Aims
1) The Club shall be called the Ashton Keynes Angling Club.
2) The conservation of fish, preservation of fisheries and to promote and encourage the proper enjoyment and welfare of the countryside. - Return to top of page
General Rules
1) No litter to be left on the Club fisheries, any member fishing a swim with litter, or used line present, will be expelled.
2) Any member leaving their swim MUST remove any bait from the hook and all tackle, except keepnets, from the water.
3) Coarse Fishing Season
Lakes 31 & 32 (Top Pit and Large Lake, Keynes Park) and Lake 34 (Cokes Pit), Season is 16 June 2008 to 14 March 2009, both dates inclusive.
Lake 56 (Neighbridge Lake) and Lake 78a and 78b (Thamesmead), Season is all year (Season 2008 - 2009, dates are 16 June 2008 to 15 June 2009).
Lake 72 (Thamesmead) and Lake 59 (Manor Brook), Season starts 17 September 2008 to 31 March 2009).
4) Membership fees:
Full Season
Seniors 3 rods £75 - Seniors 2 rods £40 - Senior Citizens up to 3 rods £20 - Juniors (16 & under) up to 3 rods £15
1 Week Holiday, Family - £25, 1 Adult + 1 Junior - £15. (both with 2 rods).
Half Season - From 1 November 2008 to 15 June 2009:
Seniors 3 rods £50 - Seniors 2 rods £30
5) Membership not valid for entry into Keynes Country Park, between midnight on 14 March until mid-day on the 15 June.
6) NO fish to be taken from Club waters, deep hooking is not acceptable as an excuse to remove fish.
7) No Carp or Pike are to be retained in keepnets EXCEPT Carp in Club competitions on Thamesmead only OR for Weighing purposes and in this case only whilst awaiting scales for club records. Carp or Pike are NOT allowed to be retained in Pike or Carp sacks. Weighing or Photography of fish must be done at the swim of capture and the fish released with the minimum of stress. Unhooking mats are to be used where necessary, with large fish to prevent damage. Common sense to prevail, we do not require fish fatalities through neglect.
8) No live, or dead coarse fish,or game fish, are to be introduced into the club waters. Sea baits only to be used.
9) No fires allowed except authorised working parties.
10) Brollycamps, Bivies, Stormsides, etc ( Must be designated fishing equipment) are permitted on all club waters with the following restrictions - Length of stay to be no more than 72 hours at any one swim. Swim must then be vacated for at least 24 hours before re-location - No footpaths or accesses to be obstructed - Long stay members MUST use the toilet facilities at Keynes Park - the use of hedges or reed beds is not acceptable.
11) Watercraft are not allowed to be used by members except designated angling 'bait boats'.
12) The Club is not liable for damage or loss of members property.
13) All members to enter the fisheries by the proper entrances and use official Club car parks, where they apply.
14) Car parking cards MUST be clearly displayed at all times when using Club Waters.
15) Any amendments to Club rules to be forwarded 14 days prior to A.G.M. Any proposals forwarded to the A.G.M. can only be accepted and detached if the proposer is present. Any changes to club rules, or constitution at the A.G.M. must be by a 2/3 majority vote. All voting to be by a showing of a current membership card.
16) To replace a lost membership card will cost £3.
17) Dogs accompanying members MUST be kept on a lead at all times whilst the member is fishing.
18) This Club will not consider restocking with catfish at any time.
19) BARBED HOOKS ARE BANNED - Hook types allowed: barbless, crushed barb and treble hooks with 1 barbed, to aid bait mounting.
20) Wire traces are to be used at all times for all methods of pike fishing. - Return to top of page
Disciplinary Procedures
1) Membership cards are to be carried at all times, failure to produce same to bailiffs, or any other member, will result in the angler being asked to leave the water.
2) In the event of any member conducting themselves so as to endanger the welfare and good name of the Club, he or she shall be disciplined if the Committee so decide, and all current membership fees will be forfeited. The Committee are empowered to suspend or expel a member, should they consider it necessary.
3) On purchasing a Club membership card a member is deemed to know and obey Club rules. - Return to top of page
Committee Rules
1) The Voting Committee shall consist of a maximum of 19 members plus the Vice Chairman.
2) When elected a committee member then stands for three seasons.
3) At least one third of the committee must seek re-election, each season.
4) Honorary and Life Memberships to be granted at the discretion of the committee.
5) Rules on attendance:- Prior apology counts as an attendance at meetings. Three meetings follow without either attendance or apology and the member is automatically deposed from the committee. - Return to top of page
