Welcome
to St. John’s! We are a
community of varying ethnic origins, liturgical traditions, economic
levels and theological perspectives, all working together to enrich our
Christian journey. We like to recognize and celebrate God at work around
us.
We search honestly together for meaning in life, so no questions are out
of place here. We are sustained
by each other and by Christ’s presence in our deepest concerns. Our hearts and our doors are always open to
newcomers, visitors and passersby.
The eagle is the ancient symbol for our namesake, the writer of the Gospel
According to John. It is the symbol adopted for our church, signifying
that God's power can lift us up as on eagle's wings and bear us through both joy
and sorrow. Working within a parish community that cares what goes on both
inside and outside its walls, God is truly doing that.
Faithfully,
The Rev. David Simmons
Vicar and Campus Minister
