Remains Silent

Remains Silent by Michael Baden and Linda Kenney is one of those forensic novels like those by Patricia Cornwell, Kathy Reichs, and Jeffrey Deaver. Then there are the non-fiction forensic books including an earlier one by Michael Baden who is a legitimate forensic pathologist. I think I've read most of the novels as well as nearly all the non-fiction ones. I figured I'd better read this one too.

It's not bad. The forensics are good and it's written in the present day. Can't say I learned anything new and the ending is rather far-fetched, but it's the usual page-turner.

However, if you buy it in hardcover, please read the book before you read the dust jacket blurb on the authors. I thought Linda Kenney was a real author who helped the elderly forensic pathologist, Baden, write a novel using his knowledge of the subject and her talent with fiction. You're better off thinking that while you read it, believe me.

I won't spoil the plot or who Linda Kenney is. If you're into forensic novels, you'll like this well enough but start at the beginning and read the dust jacket after you finish it.
