The Wellington Department of Emergency Medicine is developing into a centre of Excellence for Emergency Medicine Training. Accredited with the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine (ACEM) for 12 months of Advanced Training, the department is staffed by seven full time and one 0.5 FTE FACEM consultants. Currently providing 16 hours of on the floor supervision Wellington has 7 ACEM trainees. On the floor teaching is supported by a full teaching program on Wednesday afternoon's and there is protected teaching time for both Part I and Part II candidates. With training available at the Human Patient Simulator there is plenty of opportunity for hands on training. |
