Birthday Blessings


Today – October 8th, 2004 – I turn 37. Its the first election I'm old enough to run for President (though I won't). I received some very special blessings with common themes, which I wanted to share here.

Dr. John Prabhakar (my father), from Isaiah 60:

The LORD rises upon you
and his glory appears over you.
Nations will come to your light,
and kings to the brightness of your dawn.
Then you will look and be radiant,
your heart will throb and swell with joy;
The sun will no more be your light by day,
nor will the brightness of the moon shine on you,

and your God will be your glory.

John McClements (my "godfather" at South Bay Covenant Church), from Proverbs 4:18:

The Lord [will] grant you favor and fruitfulness
in every area of life
For the path of the righteous is like the light of dawn
shining brighter and brighter until the full day.
