Off Time
The devotions will be irregular to non-existent
for a little while. Here's why.
Several things are going on the next week or so
are conspiring against my regular devotions. The big thing is Apple's WorldWide
Developer Conference in San Francisco, which I'll be attending every day
this week. That means leaving the house around 6 AM, and returning around 8-9
PM. I won't be able to do my regular study under those circumstances. I plan
to take the train some days, and perhaps do a partial study,
though without Internet access it won't be the
same. The other factor is that I've
started a dialogue with Luis Bush regarding Transformations 2005:
Indonesia. We're exploring the possibility of my acting as a
marketing consultant, to shape the messages used both for outreach and for
structuring the conference. I don't want to make the mistake I did with the
AD2003: South
Bay project, where I got in over my head and generated a lot of
unnecessary stress. I need to seek God and ensure that I properly bound my
involvement to ensure I keep my family, physical/mental health, and Apple
commitments on track.I'm meeting with
my mentor John Isaacs on July 8th, so hopefully I'll be able to make a decision
soon after that. Until then, I may be taking time off from these devotions to
pray by myself or with my wife. After that, i hope to resume regular
devotions, though I may end up (also?) blogging my experiences with the
Transformations conference.Not sure
exactly why I'm recording all this, since I doubt anyone is following this blog
in real time (if at all). But, the concept of a virtual reader is what helps
keep me disciplined, and this way if I or anyone else look back on all this
they'll know what was going on at the
time.May God bless us
all.Ernest
