MCF Mosaic 2003 was good for me. It forced me to open Photoshop, something I had never had time to look at before. And I’m glad I did it, I had a lot of fun playing around with it.

There was no specific inspiration for my tile; mainly the time constraints, receiving only one border, and very limited knowledge of Photoshop 7.0 all dictated the direction of my image. I had no real vision of how everything would interact on the canvas; I did not set out to capture any real meaning. It was mostly a learning experience for me, and a fun one at that.

The faces in the tile are drawings of real people that I did many years ago, using various different mediums, but nothing too spectacular.

If I had to guess what it symbolizes, the only thing that comes to mind is humanity being sucked into what could be a vortex or a vacuum.
