Losing Steam

The marriage issue is losing steam?

So says this NYT article ... .and a diary on MyDD.....

Could it be that we have finally reached the point at which people get tired of this crud and see it for what it is? Have we on the marriage equality end made enough sense of the issue for voters so that they realize that it is an issue of equality and that they do want to be on the right side of history? Did the most vehemently anti-gay constituencies vote their amendments into their constitutions in 2004, and now more moderate states are in the mix?

I think we may well be at the crossroads where the anti-marriage furor dies down, and we start seeing ballot initiatives fail, and more legal protections for gay folk, and then finally, civil unions and marriage popping up in states again.

With Eliot Spitzer being one of the coolest politicians alive, its clear that the tide is turning IN FAVOR OF MARRIAGE.
