Another Workout EntryNotice that I am trying lotsa new categories for
those who want to follow only a certain part of my stream of
consciousness.....
phew - great workout at Gold's today - legs and
biceps (my massive friend Carlos wonders how I can possibly do the two together
since all the blood goes to your legs.... I dunno, but I like this combo... and
I got an arm size compliment yesterday - so - something must be
workin!!!)
I went to a different gym - the Gold's at ballston instead of the S Glebe one - and man did that make a difference! Maybe it was the change in scenery - maybe it was different equipment - but I really felt my quads and my arms tonite. The basic routine is this: 5 sets on the psuedo-squat machine (I am up to loading 4 45-pound plates on each side -woof!) 4 sets of leg press 4 sets of leg extensions 5 sets of leg curls 4 sets of calf raises 4 sets of barbell curls (i used the cambered bar and MAN did I feel it after two sets) 4 sets of reverse barbell curls 4 sets of cable curls My arms haven't felt tired during a workout in a loooooong time.... that was really cool. And, I got to say, Ballston has some SERIOUS Cuties. phew (it's not a gym entry without ogling the guys). I had forgotten, or maybe it was a fresh meat kind of effect... but wow. Wow. Wish they didn't have a nighttime parking problem cause MAN - phew! I had like a major good body image night too :) A friend told me I looked like I was losing weight (OK, he was trying to score points...) but I noticed it tonite in my leg workout - I am seeing more definition. Even if I am blowing off the 5 a.m. cardio that i said I would do (maybe I will save that for a New Year's Resolution so that I can break it later on!). But seriously, I was feelin really good - I feel like my arms are growin and I am getting leaner. not LEAN yet, but leaner. :) OK I have exceeded my blog quota for a weekday - 2 entries... that's enough. Current and recent reads:
Evan Thomas et. al. discuss the ins and outs of the campaigns of 2004 from inside them both - a fast read on the plane and made me want to scream with the accounts of missteps on the part of the Kerry team!
Currently reading Walsch's new book - it is really helping me to solidify my current angst over spiritual direction and figure out where I am going and growing. I highly recommend this as a read to everyone who wants to leap forward, or at least delve deeper into their understanding of God and our place in the universe.
