Impeachment?

Can you live with impeachment? Can we live without it?

I'm serious. The dems took over congress and said in January that impeachment was off the table.

This makes no good sense. Did they do that to build momentum for impeachment now? Did they do that so that they could appear "in the middle"? Do they actually believe its a bad idea?

Are they scared that it will create a cycle of impeachments where we had Clinton, then Bush, then the next prez gets impeached and so on forever?

I don't think there is any other way now - Bush shows that he has no intent of ever following the law - he has no intent of coming clean or of behaving himself. He represents a major danger to our country and our world.

I agree with Al Gore (and if you haven't read The Assault on Reason you better go get it now and read it!) that our very democracy is in peril and impeachment is the only way to restore democracy, to restore the world's confidence in us, and to save ourselves from the worst that is yet to come from Bush - I truly believe that he will get worse, not better.
