BIO

I was born and raised in New York City, and I can think of no place more suited to grow an artist, even though living there is agony. In my youth, local artists such as Keith Haring inspired me, as did my older cousin, who studied to be a Graphic Artist daily, and painted graffiti nightly. I first started painting graffiti at age fifteen, and it still influences me today, even though I hung up my spray cans long ago.

I escaped New York City at age eighteen, and studied fine art at The University of Maryland. While there, I found the greatest work-study job for any art student: Art Gallery Attendant. As an insider at the university's art gallery, I saw all of the artwork in their collection, even the pieces that hadn't been displayed in years, including several of Andy Warhol's portraits.

Over the years, I have dabbled in every art form I could find, including comic strip artist, iconist, muralist, and most recently, novelist, but my greatest affinity is still for drawing and painting. And I do both as often as possible, here in my new home, Northern California.
