Timeline of Events:

• March-May, 2001: Project orientation & planning (project overview, explanation of staff development model, planning for train-the-trainers and teacher workshops, principal orientation to support selection of workshop participants, scheduling of workshops, ...)

• April, 2001: orientation for selection of participants (usually 6 teachers, 1 administrator, and 1 technology support person like a tech specialists or librarian from each campus - twice that for larger HSs)

• Late May- June, 2001: train-the-trainers (TTT); there will be three TTT sessions which will include 3 days of intensive workshops related to delivery of integration workshops - also, an online community will be developed to support the group of trainers during the year and deliver ongoing TTT activities

• Summer, 2001: round 1 two day workshops (Technology & Curriculum Integration) - there will 117 workshops [73 delivered by Apple trainers, 14 delivered by ESC VI trainers, and 30 delivered by trainers from larger districts (Aldine 11, Conroe 7, Clear Creek 5, Goose Creek 4, Bryan 3)]

• August-November, 2001: round 2 two day workshops (Multimedia & Curriculum Integration)

• December, 2001-April, 2002: round 3 two day workshops (Internet & Curriculum Integration)

Funding & Number of Series per District:

• Funding: most funds for this project will be used to pay for the most important factors relating to technology staff development - trainers to deliver workshops and teacher release time ($80 per day per workshop participant for teacher duty pay or sub teacher pay), some funds also for fiscal agent & evaluation

• Series per District: each series will involve 16 participants who will attend 3 two day workshops together (summer, fall, winter) - for example, a typical series would involve 8 participants from one campus working with 8 participants from another campus (for all three workshops)

based on district size, the following number of series per district will be delivered during the project:

Aldine (27), Bellville (1.5), Brenham (3), Bryan (9), Burton (.5), Caldwell (2), Cameron (2), Clear Creek (16), Coldspring-Oakhurst (2), Conroe (18), Goose Creek (11), Groveton (.5), Hearne (1.5), Huntsville (5), Latexo (.5), Madisonville (2), Magnolia (4), Milano (.5), New Caney (4), Splendora (2), and Willis (6)
