Workshop Design - A unique approach to change teacher behaviors

• Two day integration workshops

• Limited to 16 participants (teachers and admin./support)

• Grouped by interests, grade, subject, skills, etc.

• Direct instruction, but mostly situated learning (i.e. about 75% of the workshop time will involve teachers experiencing student-centered learning as they work in groups to implement an integration lesson plan - also, the trainer will be facilitating instruction so that they are modeling what we expect teachers to do when they return to their classrooms)

• A variety of topics discussed & activities experienced ( project based learning content developed from student achievement research, including the Unit of Practice or UOP, an integration lesson design model developed from the ACOT-Apple Classroom of Tomorrow research project)

• Collaborative and hands-on approach

• Each individual teacher will develop an integration lesson plan to implement in his/her own classroom (based on TEKS objectives and/or identified TAAS/TAKS needs)
