Workshop Design - A unique approach to change teacher behaviors
Two day integration workshops
Limited to 16 participants (teachers and admin./support)
Grouped by interests, grade, subject, skills, etc.
Direct instruction, but mostly situated learning (i.e. about 75% of the workshop time will involve teachers experiencing student-centered learning as they work in groups to implement an integration lesson plan - also, the trainer will be facilitating instruction so that they are modeling what we expect teachers to do when they return to their classrooms)
A variety of topics discussed & activities experienced including the Unit of Practice or UOP (an integration lesson design model developed from the ACOT-Apple Classroom of Tomorrow research project, and also project based learning, software support & tips, etc.)
Collaborative and hands-on approach
Each individual teacher will develop an integration lesson plan to implement in his/her own classroom (based on TEKS objectives and/or identified TAAS needs)
