Badlands December 3-5 2004 This is in the Badlands area of Anza Borrego State Park, east of Borrego Springs. Typically a through-hike, we had to turn back near Vista Mal Pais.

First camp near the "Slot" The aptly named Slot Out of the slot and into the Arroyo Badlands loom in the distance Lunch in the Arroyo Starting to get bumpy Have to feel your way around Vista Mal Pais in the distance Wow! Like camping on the Moon Clouds gathering on Sunday The mud hills have an elephant skin look morning sun lights up the hills A rivulet goes through, not around Vista M.P.
