Michelle gave an energy-packed talk on how the pump had improved her quality of life and then proceeded with a very informative history on the insulin pump. This wonderful young lady fielded several questions including the topic of "school and peer acceptance of pump use".Ê We all enjoyed Michelle's talk and hope to see her at future meetings. Thank you, Michele. Jessica Reynolds, Animas / AutoControl Medical Jessica is the Ontario Territory Manager for Animas Pumps. She provided a fascinating talk on the Animas pump including a show and tell session of a working pump and one pump of which the casing had been cut away to show the internal mechanics of the unit. The Animas pump is truly advanced and loaded with many features including four programs, waterproofness, ultra low programmable basal rates which are delivered every three minutes, the easy to use, menu and sequence alarms which increase in volume if not attended to (as in the case of one being asleep and not being awakened immediately by an occlusion alarm). Jessica was very candid with us and extremely informative regarding this wonderful pump.Ê Discussions: 357's Radio Shack is offering an extended warranty on all it's 357 batteries. (I have taken advantage of this myself). You must ask for the extended warranty when you buy a 357 which costs about a dollar. Under this warranty Radio shack will replace, free of charge, the 357, if it does not last over 3 years. This is regardless of it's use! Obviously this is a potential "free" source of batteries for us!
