Opus

Yesterday was the first Opus race of the year. Actually, last week was the first one, but then the cops shut it down, but that's another story. The race went really well for me and I pulled off my first win of the season! Timmer, Dan and I broke away after 3 laps and held off the field for 21 more. I took all the points since Dan and Timmer didn't contest me. I felt unbelievable last night, I just had a ton of power and I'm not sure why. It was close to the best I've ever felt at Opus. It doesn't make any sense since only a week and half ago I was feeling totally crumped at Oxbow. I guess my new mental training focus exercises are starting to pay off.

Today was probably the best weather for cycling we ever get. It was clear blue skies, light winds and 60's. This weather meant shorts and arm warmers, my favorite riding attire. I hoped to do a little solo secret training to get ready for the race of Saturday, I headed out by Blue House road, but I didn't see Matt Henry out there. Later in the ride, I was "discovered" over in Wayzata by Jesse, Dave and the Eric, but I don't think they'll tell anyone...

It's been crazy lately, I get up at 6 AM, got to work until 4, ride my bike until 7 and then eat and it's after 8. I don't have time to do much else right now. On the weekends I'm racing all day on Saturday's and training and catching up with house work on Sunday's. All this while trying to get the rest of our wedding stuff figured out and spend some time with my Fiance. Well, I managed to get a Blog entry in during the week, so that's a good deal...
