Another teacher out thereGot this in my mailbox this
morning:
Hello Doug - My name is Mary Pat and I teach religion at [a] HS in Youngstown, OH. We are also on block scheduling. This is my second year teaching -I have 3 classes as well- Sacraments-New Testament and Intro to Christianity. This year has been Really hard. I have one class with 27 -one with 29 and one with 21(thank GOD!!!!) I am getting help from the administration as far as the 27- they are Sophomores and they are definitely adolescents and they are VERY good at being their age. Anyway-I wanted to let you know that you have lots of courage going into the teaching profession. Peace - Mary Pat Thanks, Mary Pat. Nice to hear from a "comrade
in arms". I feel fortunate that all of my students are Juniors and Seniors.
Every time I sub for a younger class, I notice that I start grating my teeth
more.
Of course, I sat in on a Christian Sexuality class yesterday, all sophomores, and I was really impressed with how they handled themselves. (And that's a story in itself . . . ) Posted: Thu - September 25, 2003 at 04:12 PM |
