teacher's block

As we segue into the "ritual" portion of our Story & Ritual class, I'm finding that I didn't have as much material prepared to teach this course as I thought I did. While the story/myth/archetypal images stuff flowed out of my brain like so much maple syrup, the whole idea of teaching daily/weekly/annual rituals is behaving more like cold peanut butter.

Feels like writer's block.

Corey helped me focus a little bit tonight, so I'm trying to back up and remember what the course objectives are. Then trying to use that to re-establish some direction in my lesson plans. I have this motivated, energetic bunch of students, and I'm not giving them much to push themselves towards . . . definitely time to raise the bar.

Also, it's "Spirit Week" at school this week, which I think is kind of like a competition, Hogwarts-style, where each class competes for spirit points, decorating their hallways, dressing up according to different themes, and trying to beat the faculty in various contests of skill. Should be fun. How do we expect any of them to get any work done this week, though?
