whaddaya mean there's no snooze button!![]() I've taken my hint from both Meera and the rest of the universe, and I'm swearing off snooze-buttoning for good. It's clear that I'm just wasting my life away during those 15-minute intervals of sleep every morning. (Of course, when you add enough of them together, they turn out to be more like 60-minute intervals!) Sunday was a very strange morning for me.
Alarm clock went off at 6:30am. I woke up at 6:30am. Did not
want
to wake up, but I did. Got myself dressed, fed, took care of Meera, then went
for a walk. Came back, took a shower, and it was only like 8:30. Then, sitting
there in the morning quiet, I reflected on my life and realized a strange
thing:
I have never gotten out of bed (voluntarily) at 6:30 am in my entire life. Not once. Never. Family members who might be reading this, feel free to prove me wrong, but I don't think there is a person on this earth who can say they've ever seen my feet touch the floor that early on a Sunday, unless I was being dragged out of bed for something. Then, as I got started on my piles and piles of grading, I realized another thing. There are a lot more hours in a Sunday than I thought! Anyway, the adventure continues, but I think I need a nap right now. It's three, and I could really use some fruit punch, cheap cookies, and a folding cot. Posted: Mon - March 29, 2004 at 03:20 PM |
