a wonderful surprise

Got home from a VERY long day (full day of work followed by parent-teacher conferences) to find a dozen white roses waiting for me at home. My parents sent them, with a note of congratulations for our upcoming wedding. It said, "You already know what it takes to make a marriage." Could anyone ask for a more supportive message than that?

I've been really blown away by the support Corey and I have received from them, especially in the last few months. Corey and I have been together over ten years now, and my parents have really watched us grow as a couple. They've seen us go through good times and bad and they know that the last year hasn't been an easy one (for many reasons). But they've been showing up every step of the way, and it really means the world to me (and Corey) every time they send a card or a gift.

Thanks, Mom and Dad. You guys are really wonderful. Love you.
