My two favorite people

Why I love Corey:

• Because his sense of humor is the only one in the world as big as mine. He laughs and giggles at the things that make me laugh and giggle. He knows how to tickle my funnybone and I know how to tickle his.

• Because he has impeccable taste, in music, fashion, home decorating, and all matters of style.

• Because his heart is the biggest one I've ever seen, and his love for the natural world (and every manner of creature that lives on it) is both humbling and inspiring.

• Because he has an insatiable thirst for justice and equality, and is constantly fighting for it.

• Because he never settles for less than the best, from himself, from me, or from anyone. He knows what goodness people are capable of, and he looks for it in everybody.

• Because he's handsome and strong, a great big beautiful bear, and he's all mine.

Why I love Meera:

• Because she sleeps between my feet at night and keeps me warm.

• Because she never lets me get too full of myself.

• Because she falls for the same feather-on-the-string trick over and over and over and over again.

• Because every time I walk in the apartment she rolls around on her back and lets me rub her tummy.

• Because she'll sit in my arms for hours, purring and purring, and I'll forget my troubles and purr with her.

• Because she crawls onto my chest in the morning and makes biscuits.

• Because she is the most precious, opinionated, affectionate, energetic, beautiful, loving animal I've ever had the pleasure of knowing.
