the voices in my headBeen listening to a lot of David Sedaris stuff lately (Corey got me hooked
on him) so I think that has been affecting the frequency of my entries. I
listen to one of his stories, and I want my writing to sound that good, so I
spend all day thinking about what I want to write. I come up with a couple of
good ideas, maybe a nice little connection between the two of them, and starting
cement-mixing them in my head.
But when the time comes to commit them to cyberspace . . . I choke. Or I write for an hour, play around with it,
then get disgusted and post it to my "invisible pile of garbage" blog, the one
that doesn't ever EVER get posted. And what ends up on my website is a big old
goose-egg. Nothing. Zip. Where's Doug? He usually posts by now. He must be
out somewhere, doing things with his life, creating a ruckus somewhere in the
world. There must be a VERY good reason why he hasn't written to us
today.
Okay, this announcement is addressed to the voices in my head: Relax, guys. It's only a website. I'll write when I write, and that's all there is to it. Most of the people reading this just came to read the "Baby Jessica" entry anyway (still mind-boggling, by the way, but it's how most people find this site). Anyway, some pictures from Easter coming soon, along with my renewed juggling habit. Until then . . . Posted: Mon - April 12, 2004 at 09:42 PM |
