back for more mini-golf

I know Marvel reads this every night now, so Hi Marvel!!! She's my grandmother and she's emailing and web-surfing with the best of us every night. So watch your language out there, folks. My Marvel is listening. (We were never supposed to call her "Grandma" because she's too young to be a Grandma, so it was always "Marvel and Grandpa's house".)

Corey and I went out mini-golfing with Gina and Rachel tonight. Same place we went when Brian was in town. Lots of fun. Everyone has funny golfing stories to tell, and Corey tied with me! Unbelievable. That was like his second or third time putt-putting ever. I'm getting old, that's what it is. Yeah, that's the reason. Getting old. Must be. Wait till we try real golfing. Then he's in trouble . . .

Here's a picture of the four of us in front of the water mill of doom. (My game started to deteriorate right around here.)

And here was my shot of the game. The hole was in the center of this volcano-like mound. If you missed the hole on your first putt, the ball would roll outside the volcano, at which point your next several strokes would be attempts at getting the ball just over the lip of the volcano so it would roll into the hole. If you hit it too hard (easy to do) the ball would roll happily to the other side of the volcano. This process usually took up the five-stroke limit.

After my second stroke, the ball perched itself precariously on the lip of the volcano, as if to say, "I don't care what anyone says. I'm staying right here!" It was beautiful. One in a million shot. Cost me a stroke, though. Here's a shot of the ball, still perched . . .

I think we're all ready for the PGA tour.
