One of our best friends from college, Joe lives in Wilkes-Barre with his wife and children. It's still amazing to believe that one of our college friends has kids!!! Anyway, we met Genevieve last New Years (I think the photos are still available on My Photo Albums page) and this year we had the distinct pleasure of meeting Jarrett Leonardo.

Genevieve was not as shy as we had been led to believe. She entertained both Corey and I with storybooks, a stuffed Moose, her favorite new words, and other bits and gags that we all found terribly cute and funny. She's really adorable.

And Jarrett is an entirely different little person. He sat quietly in my arms for the longest time, just enjoying the moment. Or maybe that was me. Either way, it's always nice to be in the presence of someone who hasn't accumulated very much life-baggage yet.

And we didn't get to see as much of Jake as we would have liked. He was pretty sleepy when he came home from the party. And a bit shyer than his siblings. But we did get to hear his "ABC's" at breakfast!

Seeing a family in action really puts things into perspective. Corey and I can hardly imagine what it must be like to raise three children. Both Joe and Shannon are teachers, too, which makes things even busier. But I can see happy they are. Joe was obviously meant to be a father . . .
