The Mystery SpotOur friend Adam, from Cleveland, is visiting
this week, and so yesterday was Road Trip Day. Drove down the coast to Santa
Cruz -- I've never
seen the
ocean so blue before! We first went to see the "Mystery Spot", something Corey
and I have done a few times already, but it's always fun to take guests there.
Then we finished off the day at the Santa Cruz beach boardwalk.
The Santa Cruz Mystery Spot, for those of you
who haven't had the pleasure, is this weird little place on the outskirts of
Santa Cruz where the laws of physics don't seem to apply. No, it's not a
gimmick. Things just don't seem to work correctly there. Very trippy. It only
costs five bucks to get in, and just walking up the hill and seeing how the
trees all grow screwy is worth that
much.
The Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, on the other hand, is really just a little amusement park on the beach. It's got a pretty decent wooden roller-coaster, all the traditional carnival midway games, greasy food (deep fried Snickers bars?!?!) and a killer view of the moon as it comes up over the ocean. Nice night. Today, I believe Corey and Adam were going to hit Alcatraz, then probably Fisherman's Wharf, Pier 39, and a movie. I took the day to work on cleaning the house. Vacuuming the floor, sorting through papers, etc. I'll try to get some pictures up later . . . Posted: Sun - July 13, 2003 at 12:04 PM |
