the morning after

(Corey's Dad and his niece, Kellie)

Wonderful Christmas at Corey's parents' house. Went over to "Dolores and Ronald's Place" for dinner, which was nice. Four generations of family in one place, more food than you can imagine, joking around, playing cards, and a Bingo game for everyone. With prizes, even!

Then we came back to his parents' for opening presents. This year, for Corey, Christmas was less a holiday and more a Premiere. He spent the last six weeks editing home movies for hours a day. The last few nights he spent hunched over my laptop, putting on finishing touches, and on Christmas he presented each family member with their very own film.

Really impressive what imovie 3 is actually capable of. If he gives me permission, I'll try to post one of the movies here.

So the whole family sat around a little TV monitor and watched all six films together. Everyone was a star for a day. It was really sweet.

I'm writing this as we prepare to disembark for the Neff House. It's about a six-hour drive from here, so we're hoping to do all of it in the daylight. The car we were planning to borrow has lost its heating ability, which also means it's lost the ability to defrost its own windows . . . which would be a big problem in the next 3 days. So we're instead driving Corey's Dad's new 4WD truck to Cleveland. Not so good mileage, but at least we'll be warm and safe. Maybe we'll get lucky and hit a blizzard so we get to turn on the four-wheel drive!

Look out, Neffs, here we come!
