The next stop on our trip was Duluth.

We stayed at my parents' house with the great view of the "High Bridge" and Superior, Wisconsin.

Of course, we had to have lunch at Sir Benedict's Tavern on the Lake!

There is a view of the bridges in Duluth from the Lake Walk in front of "Sir Ben's".

Next stop, the beach on Park Point!

Michael & I put our feet into Lake Superior - but not for long! The water never gets above 44 degrees, burrrrrrr!!!

The Ariel Lift Bridge goes up for the Vista Star.

Then we went up to the top of Enger Tower to enjoy the view from 600 feet above the lake and harbor!

It was REALLY windy at the top, so we didn't stay long.

We went home for dinner and met up with my brother's family.

My nephew and Godson, Garret, got some presents from Seattle!

Dinner in Duluth.

And the next day...

Lunch in "S'perior" at the Anchor Bar in Wisconsin.

The beach just below the picnic area.

Looking over the top of the falls from the trail.

After lunch we drove to Pattison Park to see the lake and the165-foot-tall Big Manitou Falls, Wisconsin's highest falls.

We went home to meet-up with Brian, Lynda and Garret to go out for dinner.

Garrett was wearing his snazzy new t-shirt from Seattle's Pike Place Market.

We at dinner at Little Angie's Cantina in Duluth's Canal Park neigborhood.

Garrett and Granddad explore the fountain after dinner.

The next day we drove up the North Shore of Lake Superior.

Split Rock Lighthouse

The view of the Lake Superior shore from the lighthouse.

We at lunch at the Northern Lights Restaurant.

Next we stopped at Gooseberry Falls.

The water was very low over the falls.

There were a lot of tourists crawling all over the rocks and the falls.

I was lucky to get a couple of pictures without any people in them!

That evening we took a harbor cruise with dinner.

Michael on the deck of the Vista King as we follow a ship from Poland under the Aerial Lift Bridge.

Who would have guessed, Michael and I were visiting Duluth during the Twin Ports Gay Pride weekend.

Turn out at the rally in Lief Erickson Park was a little sparse.
In fact, everyone that we met was from out of town!

After dinner, we all went to see Brian & Lynda's house.
Because Michael is alergic to dogs, Sophie had been staying at Brian & Lynda's while we were visiting.

After Garrett went to bed, we watched a DVD before Michael couldn't stay any longer!

The next morning it was time to start heading home to Seattle.
After we returned the rental car at the Minneapolis airport, we took the bus to the Mall of America.

Waiting for the #7.

The mall was VERY, VERY busy. It was busier than any time I had been there during the holiday shopping time.

Of course, we went shopping at Nordstrom!

The Lego store is great!

We had some lunch and shopped for three hours! In three hours, we only got around the mall once.

Then we took the bus back to the airport and flew back to Seattle!
