Jesus Loves

True Greatness Belongs to Those in Christ's Kingdom

Category: Jesus Loves His People, and We Should, Too.

[I am starting a new category which will include biblical passages expressing the profound love that God has for believers. There is a growing sentiment among many pastors that God's love for unbelievers trumps His love for believers and that if we spend time loving, encouraging, and edifying the church, we simply don't have the Father's heart. In doing so, they create a false dichotomy and commit the either/or fallacy, as though we had to pick one over the other. They also skip past the myriads of times the Scripture expresses not only Jesus' love for His Bride, but also the commands that we love Her as much as He does. This series of posts will merely show what our heavenly Father and His majestic Son have to say about Their love for Their people.]

Truly I say to you, among those born of women there has not arisen anyone greater than John the Baptist! Yet the one who is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he (Matt. 11:11).

God's People Know the Kingdom, Unbelievers Don't

To you it has been granted to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been granted (Matt. 13:11).

God's Wheat Is Collected, The Rest Is Burned

Category: Jesus Loves His People, and We Should, Too.

Allow both to grow together until the harvest; and in the time of the harvest I will say to the reapers, "First gather up the tares and bind them in bundles to burn them up; but gather the wheat into my barn" (Matt. 13:30).

Jesus Has Promised Eternal Life to His Followers

Category: Jesus Loves His People, and We Should, Too.

Truly I say to you, that you who have followed Me, in the regeneration when the Son of Man will sit on His glorious throne, you also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or farms for My name's sake, will inherit eternal life (Matt. 19:28-29).

Only Believers Are God's Children

Category: Jesus Loves His People, and We Should, Too.

But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor the will of man, but of God (John 1:12-13).

Jesus Is Preparing a Place in Heaven for Believers

Category: Jesus Loves His People, and We Should, Too.

In My Father's house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you: for I go to prepare a place for you. If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also (John 14:2-3).

Only Believers Receive the Spirit of Truth

Category: Jesus Loves His People, and We Should, Too.

I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever; that is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you and will be in you (John 14:16-17).

God Loves Those Who Obey Him

Category: Jesus Loves His People, and We Should, Too.

He who has My commandments and keeps them is the one who loves Me; and he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and will disclose Myself to him (John 14:21).

If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our abode with him (John 14:23).

Just as the Father has love Me, I have also loved you; abide in My love (John 15:9).

This is My commandment, that you love one another, just as I have loved you (John 15:12).
