Maria's Christmas Decorations
Shannon & Doug's neighbor, Maria, decorates her house and yard every Christmas. It's beautiful, but what makes it unique and special is the way she incorporates photos of the neighborhood children...

Maria's is a corner lot which gives her a huge palette with which to work.
Her decorations are extensive and quite beautiful.
Folks from all over drive by each year to see what she's added.
She's a gifted artist. That's a replica of the capitol in her front window!
This guy guards the entry to her home...
... while Frosty guards the front lawn...
... and waves to folks passing by.
Hark! While the front yard is holiday festive...
... the side yard depicts the real meaning of Christmas.
Maria's newest neighbors and youngest child are depicted in the stable.
Maria uses photos of all the kids in her neighborhood...
... supplied, of course, by their parents. The results are amazing!
Shepherds tending their sheep.
She makes and paints the boards, applies the faces, even incorporates fabrics!
Visitors to Maria's yard are always mesmerized!
I've never seen anything quite like it.
Nor had anyone I spoke with the night our entire clan visited Maria's home.
The "littlist angel" (bottom left) is our youngest grandson, Connor.
Isn't he, well, "angelic"?
Here's another. Maria does such a wonderful job...
... making the props, creating the faces from photos supplied by the parents...
... waterproofing them and...
... placing and lighting them.
Ah, it's our little angel again!
Peace on earth...
... good will toward men
Why, look, it's our little angel Connor again!
I think Maria deserves some kind of award for her unique creation.
It's beyond "decoration." It's "art."
There's Connor (left) riding in Santa's train.
If you're near Carmichael, drive by. I'll give you the address.
Connor wishes everyone a Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year!
