SF Golden Gate Bridge Weekend - Part 1
Part 1 of 2 albums of photos from our weekend in San Francisco to walk the Golden Gate
Bridge with good friends Michael & Sisko
July 29-30, 2006

Our weekend digs thanks to one of Sisko's clients...
... who loaned us their hi-rise apartment on Nob Hill
Neither Michael nor Sisko had ever ridden a cable car, so...
... we introduced them to "Ivan" for their first
Dawn and Sisko sat like proper ladies, but...
... but I made sure Michael got the full experience...
... hanging on the outside of the car
The grand stairway in the Hotel Monaco, a great art deco hotel (photo:Sisko)
A ceiling treatment, Hotel Monaco (photo: Sisko)
Hotel Monaco sitting area (photo: Michael)
Bronze tree statue, Hotel Monaco
Restaurant, Hotel Monaco
We happened upon a cigar shop...
... and clowned around for photos...
... while Dawn snapped some images of the shop's window displays
Are those pipes?
This one seemed ominous
We stopped for breakfast at "Colibre," our favorite SF Mexican restaurant
Tequila display, Colibre
Awwww...
Another cute couple
Eggs Ranchero with guacamole made to order, table side. Yum!
After breakfast, we headed for the bridge for our planned walk across and back
Even with the weather change, we couldn't resist the photo op (photo" Sisko)
Here's another (photo: Michael)
Here we go!
Another photo op
No turning back now! (Photo: Sisko)
Da girls by the bridge's dedication plaque
Looks mighty cold in the water below, but sailors love it
Proof we made it to the Marin side
Time to head back so we can...
... stop in the gift center for bridge memorabilia and souvenirs!
Some statistical data about the bridge. That's a strand of cable!
Sisko among the flowers
Two "men of vision"
Another view of the bridge
Flowers all in a row (photo: me with Michael's camera. Ha-ha!)
After conquering the bridge, we headed to the Buena Vista for Irish Coffees
Catherine has been our waitress for 11 years
Packed as usual, but we scored a table with two nice ladies/tourists
It's always tough getting photos taken by waitresses, but Catherine did okay
This bartender has been here forever!
