GRAB BAG ASSORTMENT

Here are a few other dino-related items you may enjoy. Remember the old snap-together dinosaur models from Aurora (right)? I had everything but the Wooly Rhino and the Mammoth. Even when I was ten, I knew that Allosauruses never battled sabre-toothed tigers. And that's what made this box so cool!

The fire-breathing Dimetrodon (lower left) is the box for a Japanese toy. It's called Gorgon according to the box. During the heyday of Godzilla and Gamera, dozens of similar fake movie monster toys came out.

And finally we have a rare frame blow-up of one of the "dinosaurs" from the 1960 version of The Lost World (below). I'll take that one over the Speilberg movie any day. When is Steve gonna ditch the computer graphics and do it right? Just get some iguanas and baby alligators from the pet store and glue a few fins and horns on 'em! (Of course, there was the US version of Godzilla in which millions of dollars worth of computer graphics were used to make something that looked just like an iguana with fins stuck on)
