ANIMALS OF YESTERDAY

by Bertha Morris Parker

Illustrated by Frederick E. Seyfarth

My friend Alex Wald rediscovered this one and sent me these scans. I finally located a used copy for my own on eBay. The book has a lot of neat drawings but the two reproduced below are the best. How on Earth did the artist achieve that great almost sparkling fleshy texture on his Allosaurus? One clue is an odd credit on the picture that says "Models Courtesy Milwaukee Public Museum." What does that mean...?

While an even more evil looking adversary awaits the outcome!
