GLOS EXHIBIT at the 2004 Michigan Orchid Society Show

The Michigan Orchid Society 'Palm Sunday' show is now behind us. Held in Laurel Park Mall in Livonia, it was BIG! The show had both the advantages and the disadvantages of a mall show. Many of you were there to experience it. The GLOS team, Marilyn Lee, designer, staging, plant placement and Doris Asher labels and registration tags with all that that entails erected a BLUE RIBBON winning 50 sq. foot exhibit that garnered 29 ribbons, 7 trophies, and a Certificate of Cultural Merit! Greg Filter provided welcome last minute support and help with the set-up. Marilyn had determined not to go with the more usual black cloth background and pot covers route. Instead, she used a soft green and brown color combination. It paid off. The exhibit welcomed Spring. A critical ingredient of course was the wonderful 39 flowers contributed by 9 of our members. Some of the non-awarded plants were important by providing color and balance. Three plants went to the overflow table where one received a Blue Ribbon and TROPHY for Best in its class! Because of the size of the exhibit and staging the team rented a cargo van to haul the plants and staging to the show site and safely home.
