Conservation: What you can do

Learn about our native orchids and their habitats to preserve and protect them. Purchase only nursery-propagated plants, not those collected in the wild.  Ask before you buy. Do not dig wild orchids and try to move them.  Seed grown nursery orchids are more adaptable to your home conditions and have a far better survival rate. Support conservation groups, government agencies and other local organizations that share our goals. Property owners can survey for native orchids to support their continued existence.
