Zanzibar and Beyond

We found paradise when we stepped off the twin engine prop plane which had taken us from Dar es Salaam to Zanzibar. We spent the morning weaving through the crooked streets of Stone Town searching for colorful chiteje, fresh fruit and wooden carvings. Securing a taxi we headed out to the east coast where we encountered white sand beaches, warm sun and cool ocean breezes. With a bungalow right off the water, the kids busied themselves constructing sand castles and finding shells while Mom and Dad enjoyed a cold Kilimanjaro and took in the scene.
