Obergurgl the 5th

Regular readers know that we like to travel to many different locales on our holidays. However, there is one place we come back to time and again for Christmas: the charming little Alpine village of Obergurgl. Here's a recap of us taking the fifth in our Austrian hideaway.

Yes, there's an extra boy in that photo! Grant's friend
Nick was able to join us for
the first few days.

Nick was great to have along; he was a good skiier and he didn't talk much so Don could keep up talking for two as he usually does.

Enjoying a singalong at the Nederhutte (well, Sooz is anyways)!

Nick could eat for two people, yet he was as slim as a rail. We were all jealous.

A quick hot chocolate to warm up the boys before another run screaming downhill.

How did boys entertain themselves before the invention of laptops?!?

There's our Sooz, the most colorful girl on the slopes!

Dressed up for Christmas
Eve dinner. Yes, Grant is really that tall!

We joined our skiing friends for our Christmas meal. This is one of the best things about coming back each year!

Don visited the little church
for a very nice Christmas
Eve service. It was packed!

Here's the gang enjoying lunch on Christmas Day.

We went night skiing once again; it was a lot of fun!

Sooz snapped a nice photo
of us boys as we paused during our run.

The Hohe Mut was totally rebuilt but it wasn't quite the same as the old days.

Two happy gentlemen after a day of bashing the pistes.

As usual, our week went by too fast, and we had to leave our little village.

A stop in Innsbruck to try on furry hats. Not as furry as
this one, though!

We also drove to see the newly-opened Hungerburg station of the Nordpark cable railway, designed by Zaha Hadid.

Innsbruck

Lastly, here's a photo of beautiful Innsbruck from the banks of the river Inn.
