Port Authority
The real problem with the sale of port oversight
at six eastern U.S. ports to Dubai is not that Arabs will run U.S. Ports. The
real problem is that the decision was made without President Bush's approval or
even knowledge.
There are aspects of
the sale that appear problematic, and that apparently constitute special
treatment for the Dubai Ports World. So you would think that the President
would want to be informed of the conditions of the sale, of for no other reason
than to be able to say, "I was kept apprised of all developments and I
personally approved the sale."
Instead
the President was not in the loop.
This
is another indication (among countless indications) that the Bush administration
is incompetent and out of touch with the real world. When are the American
people going to recognize that the United States of America is too big and too
complex a nation to be led by a "good ol' boy"?
