Riots in the Muslim World
Has anyone else noticed that the people dying in
these riots are Muslims, not westerners? That the dying are poor? That they
are oppressed by their governments?
Has
anyone else noticed that the subtext of these riots is not religion or even
culture, it's the distribution of a country's wealth and the difference between
the west's verbal support of democracy and it actual support of tyrants like
Mubarak in Egypt?
[This is by no means
meant as a defense of the cleric who put a bounty of $25,000 on the head of the
cartoonist. A man of God who not only condones but supports murder is religious
hypocrite who deserves no rhetorical defense. He deserves to be brought up on
charges of making a material threat to the well being of another
person.]
