Equiped
with a new camera and my lifelong love of historic buildings
and architecture I set out amongst the hills of San Francisco
to find the perfect setting to capture the essense of one
of my favorite cities. Unable t o find the perfect vantage
point, I instead took individual "portraits" of
many of the cities "painted ladies" as well as cutting
edge skyscrapers. This print is a result of that excursion.
Actually a composite collage of 18 separate photographs, this
print is immediately recognizable as the city by the bay but
at the same time this scene does not truely exist! Slight
shifts in perspective on each photograph also evoke the cities
earthquake prone history.
