Dear Class of 1979:
I hope you all enjoyed your summer. My husband and I spent most of the summer working on the house and spending time with our animal collection. Vet school just started again so I'm back to the old grind. My brother Brooks graduated from University of South Florida this past May. That's about it for our family. This newsletter is co-authored by Dan Norton who diligently tracked down quite a few of our classmates (thanks Dan!!). If anyone else would like to contribute to the next newsletter, please let me know. As usual, I am enclosing an updated address.
GENERAL INFORMATION:
Establishment of ARAMCO BRATS INC (ABI): This is old news to all of you already on ABI's mailing list. The board wont directly run the reunions but will oversee the transition of information and funds between reunion chairpersons.
Sixth Biennial ARAMCO-BRAT Reunion: The reunion will be help in Chandler (near Phoenix), Arizona over next Memorial Day weekend (May 23-26) and chaired by Diane Knipfel-Adams (AB '75). It sounds like Diane has a lot of great ideas to make it an unforgettable weekend. There are rooms at the hotel that individual classes can reserve for mini reunions. Does anyone have any ideas? If you did not get the ABI (ARAMCO Brats Inc.) newsletter in June, please get in touch with Diane as soon as possible. Her address is 12612 N 42nd Avenue, Phoenix, AZ 85029-1913 or phone number 602-938-8788. The survey forms in the newsletter are being used to reserve rooms at the hotel. The information packet for the reunion will be mailed out in January, 1997.
Brat E-Mail Connection: Selena Maranjian, Diana Ryrholm-Geerdes, and Jan Testarmata-Underwood have created an electronic mailing list for ARAMCO Brats. It is free to join and a lot of fun. Everyone talks about memories from Saudi and ARAMCO Brat activities. If you're interested in joining, send an e-mail message to Jan at Jan.Testarmata@Eng.Sun.COM.
CLASS NOTES:
Gabriel Hill is a happy homeowner in Chino Hills, which is a suburb a bit South and East of Los Angeles. He's been married for the last six years. He's in management and sales at a small insurance brokerage. In his spare time he tends to a Koi pond in his backyard.
Our "most industrious" award goes to Randy Pollard, who is completing his Bachelor's degree and starting his Master's at Mercer University in Macon, GA. He's also working full time. He still manages to play some tennis in his few moments of free time. Randy went skiing with Danny Norton in Vail in February of this year. Randy has two children, Brandon and Emily.
Brent LeTellier is back in graduate school at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. I guess he just loves education, as he's already got both Bachelor's and Master's degrees. Just can't get enough, huh Brent? He also plays Mister Mom to his two year old daughter Nicole. Brent has been married to his spouse Maria, an environmental engineer, for nine years.
