April 12, 1997 A Changing of the Guard First, on behalf of all of us, I would like to thank Robin Van Der Zee Sego for her terrific efforts as Class Representative for the past three years. She did a superlative job. While many of us may one day hold this post, Robin will always be No. 1. Robin has passed on the reins (no pun intended) to yours truly, Danny Norton, so please send any news, notes, or other correspondence to me at: |

| Sixth Biennial ARAMCO Brat Reunion - Phoenix
- May 23-26, 1997
If you haven't done so already, please fill out your Reunion Survey ASAP. If you've misplaced yours (or never got one), I've enclosed a copy at the end of the newsletter. Make your reservations now, as hotel space is filling up fast. The Sheraton San Marcos (602-325-3535), the Reunion location, is already full, though they do have a wait list. The Windmill Inn (800-547-4747), the primary alternate hotel, is 3-4 miles away. They are offering the same rate ($62/night) and will have shuttle busses going to the Sheraton. Some of you may have received a letter about a reunion in San Antonio from a group called AAAA. They are a small, disaffected Brat splinter group. Don't even THINK about going. The real ARAMCO Brat Reunion is in Phoenix. Brats in (Cyber) Space
If you have World Wide Web access be sure to look up the Aramco Brat Web site at: www.aramco-brats.com. It is loaded with interesting things, including dozens of pictures from Dhahran, Ras Tanura and Abqaiq, menus from the Snack Bar, shopping guides to Al-Khobar, and many others. Be sure to sign the Guest Book when you visit. |

| Rob Graham had a big weekend several months ago. On October
4th his wife, Beth, gave birth to their twins, a daughter, Emma, and a
son, Tyler. Rob was shocked to learn that those are the names of Sarah
Templer Howard's twins as well. Only two people in our class have twins,
and they both chose the same names. Go figure. The next day, Rob and Beth
moved into their new home in West Los Angeles. Somehow, Rob even made it
back to work the following day. Congratulations go out to Rob and Beth on
their new arrivals. Congratulations are also in order for Deidre Halpin Ambrose and her husband Joe. They were blessed with a little bundle of joy with the arrival of their daughter, Skye Nicole, on September 14th. Deidre and Joe recently moved into a new house in Sarasota, Florida.

Lee Wasson and his wife Shelly are living in Denver.
Lee moved there to ski for a year after college and enjoyed it so much that
he stayed.
Amman, Jordan, is home to Renda Abu-Rayyan Shahin and Lama Kamal Talabat. Both are married and have children. Renda is an architect with the U.N., designing resettlement villages for Palestinian refugees, while Lama teaches English at a private school. Mark Chaudoir is living in Houston, designing oil well drilling equipment for Haliburton. Mark went to the University of Missouri at Rolla on an ROTC scholarship and then spent four years in the Army. He returned to our homeland as an Intelligence officer during Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm. |
