Joe, Holly Anne and Tammy Dimmick-Lenge

Many of the old-timers will also remember Tammy Dimmick-Lenge, who left Dhahran in 1975 when her father, a pilot with ARAMCO, took a job with Exxon in New York.  The family settled in Middletown, NJ.  Tammy went to college at Wesleyan, in West Virginia, and majored in nursing and biology.  In the winter of her freshman year she was in a terrible car accident and spent several months in the hospital recovering.

In 1987, friends introduced her to Joe Lenge, a police officer, in Tom’s River, NJ.  They got engaged the following year and were married in 1989.  In 1994, Tammy and Joe welcomed Holly Anne to the family.

Tammy and Joe are both avid fishermen.  They go out for two or three days at a time fishing for mahi mahi, blue shark and tuna on their 42 ft. boat.  They also spend two weeks each summer with friends at a beach house on North Carolina’s Outer Banks.  Tammy’s sister, Ginger, (another of our classmates) is living in Dallas, as are her parents.

Candy Pierce-Covnot writes:
All is well in Colorado.  My daughter is in the 2nd grade at the same school I went to as a boarding student.  For the last 3 years I have been focusing on my antique shop in Security, CO.  I was hit head on in my Chevy Tahoe by a drunk driver two years ago and have undergone 2 shoulder surgeries and all the therapy etc.  I am a big fan of the designated driver idea and hope my old Saudi friends will heed the "do not drink and drive" motto!

My husband Rob is an FFL (federal firearms license) dealer.  I met Rob when I attended the University of New Mexico.  I lived with Leslee Kimble-Stark at the time.  If my family had not moved to Dhahran, Rob and I would have attended the same schools in Albuquerque.  In fact, his little sister and I went to the same dance academy as small children.

We sell antiques, collectibles, home decor curios, relics and firearms.  I am an avid antique hound and attend auctions on a regular basis.  I do a lot of appraisal work and love the research involved with the history of neat old stuff.

I recently had a great opportunity to put on a show for my daughter’s class, since they were studying the Middle East;  she was really proud that her mom could do a class presentation with pictures and props, including veils and thobes, for the class to try on.  Her whole classroom was turned into a bazaar complete with a real belly dancer.  It was a blast.  In May, I will have been married for 17 years whew!!!

Our family does a lot of camping, hunting and fishing.  We love the outdoors, so Colorado is a perfect setting for us.  My daughter is a wonderful marksman.  We go to the mountains and go shooting for sport a lot.  Because I own my own shop, free time is a luxury; but I love my work so I know I AM LUCKY, as I do what I love for a living.  I get to shop, display and decorate and get paid for it.
