A Reunion to Remember

The first Reunion east of the Mississippi had a very different feel to it.  In contrast to past Reunions, where the pool always served as the central meeting place/oasis for our tribe of Brats, things were much more spread out in Atlanta.  Groups could be found at the sports bar, the teen canteen, the food court, the garden terraces and the pool and jacuzzi (which were a bit on the small side). It was tough to go anywhere without running into some friends.  The world beyond the hotel beckoned as well. Atlanta is surprisingly green.  Many were able to get away and enjoy some of the gorgeous forested areas nearby.  Early arrivers had the good fortune to see Lee Wasson and family.  Friday brought a great influx of Brats and the ranks seemed to swell by the hour.

Many of us stopped by to see our fourth grade teachers, Pat Moody and Nancy Cool, who were at a table in the main meeting area on Friday evening and Saturday afternoon.  They stayed through the weekend.  Both had changed little in the past 25 years.  Hank Rigler and Lois Baumann were also at the Reunion.  It was great fun catching up with them.

Our class turnout of 25 wasn't quite up to the showing in Chandler but it was still quite good.  Atlanta brought quite a few first timers including Janine Kline-Kane, Saib Isa, Martha Herrera-McCormick, Deidre Halpin, Leslie Kimble, Rhonda Gadberry, Robert Luttrel and Monica Roppel.
