Brats: The Next Generation: Henry and Dylan Jones and Olivia Melikian.

All the way from Trinidad, Scott Schuerman writes: "I heard from several people that the Phoenix Reunion was a blast. I'll try to make it to the next one, but there's no telling where I'll be then.  As usual, I'm off in some far-off place that no one else wants to go to. I've been here in Trinidad since October '96 and expect to be here until about the middle of May.  Then I will head back to Houston and decide what to do from there. We are finishing up work here on two large ammonia plants located about three miles apart.  I've just about got all of the job-related and quality of life problems worked, so it's time go.

In May of 1997 I went to Venezuela and married my Venezuelan sweetheart, Maribel, at about the time you guys were just popping open the first case of beer.  She's now living here in Trinidad with me and will be heading to the U.S. with me for the first time when we go back in May."

After living and working in several different parts of the western hemisphere, Jeff Flower moved to Las Cruces, NM, where he has his own BMW and Porsche repair shop.  Jeff went to high school in New England and then moved to Houston where he worked with an oil supply company.

After a few years he moved to Phoenix to further his education.  He lived on an Indian reservation while going to school.  He also spent six months studying the culture in Jamaica before returning to Arizona.  After working for a while, Jeff moved up to Alaska where he spent much of the next several years working on fishing boats in the Bering Sea.  Fellow brats Steve Turton and Cyrus Aslan made the same migration, though their paths didn't cross.

After four years of working on the boats, Jeff moved to Seattle to get his advanced boat captain certification.  After a few months he moved to Las Cruces and set up the repair shop, where he specializes in high performance options.

In May, Jimmy Curry got engaged to Tanya, his long-time girlfriend. They haven't set a date for the wedding yet.

Kim Vickery-Melgren
writes:         "My life is so different than I ever imagined.  I married Mark Melgren and inherited the job of a farmer's wife--and I finally figured out what that means; I get to do everything he doesn't have time to do!

We raise alfalfa hay, wheat and peppermint, a wide variety of animals, and four children (Gareth, Shanessa, Luke and Ashley) on our 300-acre farm. Our farm is just ten miles outside of Othello, WA. It's a small farming community with lots of outdoor recreational activities.

I have my own Zoo! The kids are actively involved in 4H and raise ring- neck pheasants, chukars, red-golden pheasants, and peacocks and other poultry for exhibition. We also raise beef and dairy cattle and have a few horses. It's never boring around here.

We spend our "free time" camping and fishing as much as possible.  The weather here is great.  We have moderate winters, enough snow to build a snowman, but not enough to make me miss Saudi!  Our summers are gorgeous and warm.  I miss the beaches at Half Moon Bay, but we have a lot of wonderful lakes with some of the biggest bull frogs anywhere!

My sister Keri is just an hour away and we see a lot of each other.  She has five children close to the same age as mine. She is doing well and is very happy with her life.  It's fun to pull the old yearbooks out and show the kids how dorky we all looked back in the "Stone Age"- as my kids say!

Things are great for me! I have a wonderful life.  The experience of living in Saudi has really made me appreciate what I have - the diversity of the land, the animals and the people around me!"

Congratulations are in order for Faysal Hamza, who recently bought a house in the Dallas suburb of Addison, TX. Way to go Faysal!
