| We trust that this newsletter finds you and your family in good health and spirits. 1997 was quite a year for the Class of 1979. It brought several marriages (way to go Chris, Mercedes, and Ted!), babies (Congratulations Jan, Jacqui, Cissy, Siobhan and Michele!), graduations and last but far from least one amazing Brat Reunion. For details on all of the above (but no Andy Rooney) read on! | ||

Wedding bells at St. Matthew's Cathedral were ringing for Mercedes
Galindo and her husband, Malcolm DeSouza. They were married there
last September. After the wedding, they flew off to Marrakesh,
Morocco. They
first spent three days shopping and enjoying the atmosphere in the
Souks.
They later went on to Essaouiria, a city that was built around a fort
on
the Atlantic Coast.
Mercedes is the personal assistant for Judith Kipper and Tony Cordesman, two noted Middle East analysts. Malcolm is an OB/GYN physician in private practice and also works at Sibley Hospital. He did his residency at George Washington University. Malcolm plays ice hockey for a club team. He and Mercedes get out to see the Washington Capitols quite often.
