Non-Christian victims blamed for Tsunami

There are a couple of reports in the US [http://rawstory.rawprint.com/1204/westboro_tsunami_statement_1230.php ] and Australia [http://www.smh.com.au/articles/2005/01/05/1104832176874.html ] citing Christians who attribute the devastating Sumatran tsunami to their god who wishes to punish evil humans (i.e. Muslims, Buddhists, Hindus, and decadent pagan Swedes and Australians) for not obeying his will. This reminds me of Voltaire's satirical tale Candide (1759), published soon after the Lisbon earthquake and tsunami of 1755, in which the Portuguese Inquisition launches an auto-da-fe soon after the destruction to appease the wrathful god who destroyed so many innocent lives [http://oll.libertyfund.org/ToC/0060-01.php ].
