Which is Better... SEO or PPC?

When you want traffic, should you pay per click (PPC) , or try search engine optimization (SEO)? Either takes time to learn, but if you're just starting out, here is the fast path to profits.

Question - I noticed your recommendation of Jim Edwards' Mini Site Creator. I'm concerned how one page sites will rank, since most sites in the top 10 seem to have far more content.

Perhaps when someone has read TNT Guide they can achieve some results, but I'm somewhat skeptical. Wouldn't it be better to recommend Andy Williams SEO Website Builder for non-technical beginners?

Answer - After you do your keyword research and analyze the competition. There are two main schools of thought... or traffic. Pay per click (PPC) traffic and organic free search engine optimization (SEO) listings.

Dr. Andy's SEO Website Builder, the TNT Guide, Stomping the Search Engines, my Revenge of the Mininet, etc, are all SEO related.

My Fast Track in the Clickin' it Rich Action Plan, John Reese's Traffic Secrets, Jim Edwards' Mini Site Creator, Perry Marshall's Definitive Guide to Google AdWords are all PPC related.

(You can find links to all of the products mentioned above and mini reviews at my Zero Nonsense site.)

To "rank well" with SEO, you generally need a five to ten page site, or in more competitive keyword categories, a Mininet, (which some people are now calling virtual real estate), as described in Revenge of the Mininet. To "rank well" for PPC, especially on Google AdWords, you just need to know how to write a good ad.

The reason that Mini Site Creator is perfect for beginners, is because it has videos that assume you know nothing about making a web page. This is as basic as it gets.

Jim also wants to get you earning some money quickly, by focusing on PPC ads, which bring immediate, consistent, predictable traffic. Compare that to the three months it may take to start getting SEO traffic.

With the changes to Google's AdWords system, where the days of the "Google Cash" method, linking directly to the affiliate site are long gone, the one page site, or value added "landing page" has become the new status quo. (There are several examples of profitable landing pages in the Action Plan.)

Unlike Overture, where it's simply a bidding war, ranking in the top 10 on Google is a matter of bid price AND writing the best classified ads. The more clicks you get, the less you pay per click.

Yes, I know that sounds odd, the more you get clicked on the less you pay, but Perry Marshall's course tells you exactly how to write ads that perform better than the competition. I bought the course about a month ago and have been listening to the 10 hours of audio every day since.

Some people don't even bother with traditional SEO traffic any more. Instead, their business models are based entirely on pay for clicks, constantly tracking and testing new ideas in the sales process, (PPC ad, landing page, opt-in page, sales letter, follow-up autoresponders, back-end sales) and by doing so, making a lot more money in profits, than they spend in advertising.

Either road (PPC or SEO) takes time to learn. For raw beginners, the enthusiasm of that first sale from PPC ads, can go a long way to keeping them inspired. So don't get me wrong, I love Dr. Andy's software, I use it and recommend it myself, but it can take longer to get results.

I want the beginner to get hooked on the excitement through immediate PPC traffic, then, if they want to take it beyond the Fast Track and up to the next level, use Dr. Andy's SEO Website Builder software and the TNT Guide, where we start building sites for better positioning and free search engine traffic.

Then finally, if the student chooses to make the internet a career choice, I've provided tons of bonus material in Clickin' it Rich with the Keyword Hotlist, 25 Top Markets, the Career Building Plan, Quick and Easy eBook Publishing, How to Write and Sustain a Profitable Newsletter and the audio, to help them set up a complete home business, with minimal risk.

But it all starts with that burst of joy from the very first internet sale. The sooner we can make that happen, the more likely it is that we'll reach their heart, and show their mind the infinite possibilities that lie ahead.
