Most people wouldn't make a course for total beginners. It's way too much work to create all the videos. Not to mention the customer service, tech support and questions that come after the initial sale. I asked more than 20 of my internet friends to put together a beginners course, but they all declined the offer.

It's too bad. The "digital divide" as they call it is getting much bigger with every passing day, and it makes me sad. I rattle off terms like HTML, FTP, SERPs, hyperlink, SEO, PR, Blogging, RSS, without giving them a second thought. Those of us "in the know" take a lot for granted.

Turns out, just like years ago, there's a thousands of people every day, just starting out. They want to make it online and have a lot of heart. But some of them are struggling like crazy, just trying to figure out how to link one web page to another.

(Never mind the big mystery of getting hosting, entering usernames, passwords, root directories, and figuring out how to FTP all the pages up to the server.)

Personally, I'd hate to be dropped off in the middle of the internet and asked to profit my way out. Back in '94 we had to figure everything out for ourselves and it was super expensive to own a domain name and host it.

Thank goodness times have changed and you can get hosting for $10 a year at Hostica, and a domain name for $9 a year at Godaddy... so for around $20 a year you can have an internet presence. But how do you go from an idea in your head, to a pretty web page that converts visitors into sales?

Thank goodness there's finally some help there too. And I can't think of a more patient person to help beginners. He's perfectly suited to the task.
